Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway
Our favorite thing about fall is watching the leaves on the trees change and fall. The Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway is considered one of America’s 10 most beautiful highways. Extending from Grand Island to Alliance, Hooker County lies in the middle of the highway’s two portal cities. So, gas up the car, buy some road trip snacks and settle in for a beautiful drive. Watch the leaves on the trees turn into beautiful shades of red and yellow, and keep your eye out for the many species of birds that migrate through the area. The Scenic Byway is a relaxing easy way to experience nature’s beauty from the comfort of your car.
Whatever you’re into, the Nebraska Sandhills have something for everyone!
